At the very foot of the hill the Karl May plays are staged every year in July and August in one of the beautiful open air theatres in Europe. This has been so since 1952. Here you can take part in the fascinating adventures of Winnetou and Old Shatterhand. Large concerts are given in the open air theatre every year.

The town of Bad Segeberg was founded more than 875 years ago. The church of St. Mary (St. Marienkirche) is one of the most important romanesque style buildings in Northern Germany. The pedestrian area in the town centre with many shops and attractive restaurants is a popular place for strolls and shopping.
